A Brief Overview
Responsible for planning, implementing, directing, and controlling activities, operations, and programs in Cardiovascular Services, the Cardiac Cath Lab and the Outpatient Cardiac Cath Lab. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

What you will do
  • Plans, organizes, develops, implements, and controls Cardiovascular Services operations to meet MLH corporate and departmental goals and objectives while directing, coordinating, and developing policies, procedures, and processes for the department. Directs department-based quality monitoring and evaluation activities and implements measures to ensure that hospital, DNV, and other quality and regulatory standards are met.
  • Demonstrates effective customer relation skills by communicating a clear vision of organizational values and expectations while encouraging an environment of associate involvement by promoting a positive work environment, and contributes to the overall team effort.
  • Accepts authority and responsibility for staff/physicians collaborations to enhance patient care through the flow of information by establishing, utilizing and maintaining effective communication system within and outside the Cath Lab.
  • Promotes, maintains, demonstrates and communicates the value of self-development and enhancement of the professional competency of the staff and achievement of annual performance objective.
  • Hires, develops, and retains a competent, productive, and quality conscious staff.
  • Prepares an annual expense budget, capital request budget, and human resources utilization plan for Cardiovascular Services.

Education/Formal Training Requirements
  • Associate's Degree Radiology
  • Associate's Degree Cardiovascular Technology
  • Bachelor's Degree Radiology
  • Bachelor's Degree Cardiovascular Technology

Work Experience Requirements
  • 1-3 years Cardiac catherization
  • 1-3 years Lead, Supervisory, or Management

Licenses and Certifications Requirements
  • BASIC LIFE SUPPORT - American Heart Association
  • Registered Nurse Arkansas - Arkansas State Board of Nursing
  • Registered Nurse Mississippi - Mississippi Board of Nursing
  • Registered Nurse Tennessee - Tennessee Board of Nursing
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist - Cardiovascular Credentialing International
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of invasive techniques used during cardiac Cath examinations.
  • Supervisor skills and knowledge of management principles commensurate with leadership experience.
  • Ability to understand and prepare complex written materials, such as business plans.
  • Ability to communicate verbally with all levels of Associates, leaders, physicians and patients and their families.
  • Ability to lead and motivate individuals and groups of people toward the accomplishment of work and organizational goals.
  • Skill in negotiating with and between individuals and groups of people, including Associates, leadership, and physicians.
  • Ability to plan and schedule tasks and projects and to maintain control of own and other’s workflow.
  • Skill in developing and implementing long-rang plans and programs.
  • Ability to work without close supervision or professional guidance and to exercise independent judgment.

Supervision Provided by this Position
  • Manages Cardiovascular Services and Cardio Cath Lab Associates.

Physical Demands
  • The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
  • Must have good balance and coordination.
  • The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
  • The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
  • The conditions to which the Associate will be subject in this position: The Associate is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
