A Brief Overview
The Recruiter I screens, recruits, and interviews internal and external applicants to fill current or expected job vacancies. Coordinates necessary steps and information to hire applicants. The Recruiter takes a proactive role in filling job vacancies and demonstrates a strong sense of urgency in work matters. Consults with management to identify and recommend the most qualified candidates. Maintains an effective working relationship with internal staff and external agencies. Stays abreast of HR practices. Utilizes SAP and other databases for research, applicant tracking and new hire processing. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.
What you will do
- Recruits, interviews and refers qualified applicants (external and internal) for posted positions.
- Counsels with prospective and current Associates regarding employment procedures, processes and activities.
- Complies and reports confidential and statistical data.
- Understands, applies, supports and facilitates system and department policies, procedures and standards and provide input to budgetary needs.
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Human Resources
- Bachelor's Degree Business Administration/Management
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience Qualifications
- 1-3 years Human Resources Minimum of two (2) years of Human Resources experience required
- In lieu of Bachelor's degree, the candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent with six years of human resources experience.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of the diversity of sourcing techniques.
- Knows and uses well the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of particular field of specialization.
- Intermediate technical knowledge.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Good customer service skills.
- Proven successful skills in a proactive approach to Recruiting.
- Ability to plan and control projects
- Ability to communicate effectively dealing with internal and external clients.
- Adapts services or processes to meet the clients’ needs.
- Begins facilitating meetings.
- Usually partners with a Recruiter II or Consultant on projects.
Licenses and Certifications
- Senior Professional Human Resources Certification HR Certification Institute preferred
- Professional Human Resources Certification - HR Certification Institute preferred
Supervision Provided by this Position
- There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities associated with this position.
Physical Demands
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
- The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
- The conditions to which the Associate will be subject in this position: The Associate is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
