A Brief Overview
Responsible for directing and coordinating activities and operations of the department, including but not limited to information system and database management, quality improvement, frontline customer service, logistics and financial analyses. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in The Methodist Mission, Vision and Values.

What you will do
  • Responsible for timely submission of data to the Director, Transplant Clinic. Enhances and maintains customer or commercial software by completing code modifications or other supporting changes necessary for data submission.
  • Responsible for maintaining decision support databases. Takes into context and plans for current and future customer requirements. Recommends techniques, procedures and applications to meet the customers’ needs.
  • Reviews and analyzes data for assessing the organization’s performance for making process improvements. Defines and implements plans to meet specific needs of administration and management.
  • Establishes an organized system to generate ad hoc reports and make available to administrators, managers, physicians, clinical Associates, and others.
  • Performs research and statistical analysis for special projects and reports to support the Transplant Clinic staff.

Education/Formal Training Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Bachelor's Degree Computer sciences
  • Bachelor's Degree Information Systems
  • Bachelor's Degree Business Administration/Management
  • Bachelor's Degree Health Administration

Work Experience Requirements
  • 5-7 years Business support

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of financial practices, statistical analysis, and quality improvement techniques as they relate to resource management.
  • Working knowledge of or familiarity with hospital operations.
  • Proficient use of personal computers or terminals.
  • Experience with database management.
  • Working knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, and database applications, preferably with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to assist decision making.
  • Ability to participate as a team member as well as to work without close supervision and to exercise independent judgement.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and follow up appropriately.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral, to all levels of the organization

Supervision Provided by this Position
  • There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this position.

Physical Demands
  • The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
  • Must have good balance and coordination.
  • The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
  • The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
  • The conditions to which the Associate will be subject in this position: The Associate is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
