A Brief Overview
The Safety & Security Regulatory Trainer is responsible for the development, deployment, and training of safety and security regulatory requirements for associates. The incumbent develops and conducts various training for safety and security including, Security Basic officer training, MOAB training, and other departmental initiatives. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.
What you will do
- Conducts appropriate assessments of MLH facilities and ensures adherence to various regulatory standards.
- Accurately compiles and completes required reports and documents.
- Conducts training for all MLH Healthcare facilities and departments.
- Assists in other regulatory initiatives.
- Assists in inventory and rotation of DDC supplies.
- Mantain TN requirements for Firearms Instructor certification.
- Mantain TN licensure for Armed Guard Trainer certification
- Develop and implement policies, procedures and training in compliance with state requirements for Armed Guard registration.
- Performs others duties as assigned.
Education/Formal Training Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Bachelor's Degree
Work Experience Requirements
- Healthcare regulatory
- Kowledge of hospital operations
- 5-7 years Safety and/or security
- Safety/security training
Licenses and Certifications Requirements
- Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) International Board for Certification of Safety Managers
- Class D Driver's License Tennessee Motor Vehicle
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to train others on safety, security, MOAB, and other regulatory programs.
- Ability to understand and prepare complex written materials.
- Demonstrated computer skills including experience with Microsoft Word,etc.
- Ability to lead, teach and motivate individuals and groups of people toward the accomplishment of work and organizational goals.
- Ability to plan and schedule tasks and projects and maintain control of own and others' workflow.
- Skills in developing and implementing long-range plans and programs.
- Ability to work without close supervision or professional guidance and to exercise independent judgment.
Supervision Provided by this Position
- There are no lead or supervisory responsibilities assigned to this position. Incumbent assumes responsibility for providing in- services and training sessions to Methodist Healthcare Associates at assigned locations on all shifts, and acts as resource as needed.
Physical Demands
- Ability to travel to other Methodist facilities if appropriate or necessary, availability to respond in emergency situations.
- Ability to read, write and communicate with others.
- Ability to crouch, crawl, climb, and walk throughout shift in order to inspect various confined spaces such as interstitial areas.
- Exposure to hazardous materials and conditions as related to working in a healthcare environment.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to train on physical aspects of Basic Officer training and MOAB.
- Possible exposure to infectious disease, heat, cold, fire, smoke, fumes and noises.

Education:
