A Brief Overview
The PAS Systems Coordinator is responsible for providing and coordinating end-user system support for the PAS information Systems and/or processes at MLH, including analysis and adaptation of departmental workflows, definition of system parameters and testing/trouble-shooting system and process performance problems. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.
What you will do
- Defines, assesses, and adapts PAS departmental workflows to support Scheduling and Registration information systems and other computerized systems as needed.
- Defines and maintains operational parameters for PAS information systems.
- Assists in the management of the design, development, testing, documentation, and support of PAS software.
- In collaboration with Information Systems operational and staff functions, provides ongoing coordination of data security, integrity, back up, and recovery procedures for PAS software.
- Communicates effectively by promoting the flow of information within and outside the department.
- Performs administrative functions for Corporate PAS office in a professional and Customer-oriented fashion to ensure that the office meets the needs of PAS Management for the entire system.
Work Experience Requirements
- Must have at least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the areas of hospital-related Patient Access / Admissions or Systems.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate activities, functions and apply critical thinking skills in testing and diagnosing problems related to computer systems.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently exercise sound judgment and personal initiative in all circumstances, including stressful and time-pressured situations.
- Knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office suite of products required. Working knowledge of Access Management Scheduling Systems and Registration Applications preferred.
- Demonstrated written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Must be able to provide own transportation and be able to travel to any area of the Corporation, as needed.
- Demonstrated integrity and ability to deal with highly confidential information.
- Demonstrated success in project and testing management.
- Must be able to understand complex verbal and written communications, and respond verbally or in writing as appropriate. Typical mediums of communication include face-to-face dialog, telephone, memos, and electronic mail.
- Must be able to read and understand technical manuals and other documentation to determine correct action, safety precautions, and other conditions of proper hardware and software operation.
Supervision Provided by this Position
- There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this position.
Physical Demands
- Subject to call back at all times.
- Subject to standard office working conditions with intermittent exposure to noisy computer equipment.
- Required to sit for extended periods.
- Must be able to be flexible with work hours, depending on the accessibility of individuals or equipment involved in projects, system downtime or failures.
- Subject to regular periods of repetitive hand motion as would be expected in the operation of computer terminals and other equipment.
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
- The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
- The conditions to which the Associate will be subject in this position: The Associate is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
