Responsible for planning and implementing strategies to drive philanthropic revenue to the Methodist Healthcare Foundation to include management of the annual giving program, stewardship program, and direct cultivation and solicitation of mid-level and lower level individual donors. A Brief Overview
Responsible for planning and implementing strategies to drive philanthropic revenue to the Methodist Healthcare Foundation to include management of the annual giving program, stewardship program, and direct cultivation and solicitation of mid-level and lower level individual donors. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in The Methodist Mission, Vision and Values.

What you will do

  • Responsible for the planning and implementation of the Foundation’s annual giving program (including internal and external campaigns), including mailed and electronic fundraising appeals, annual giving donor retention and elevation strategies, and the management and development of donor giving societies.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of the Foundation’s Stewardship program, including donor/gift acknowledgements, managing major gift donor recognition including physical signage/naming and timely informational updates, the development of donor giving societies, and planning and implementation of general donor stewardship communications, events, and other activities.
  • Supports the Foundation team’s efforts to secure philanthropic donations by planning and executing stewardship strategies to strengthen donor relationships and feelings towards the Foundation.
  • Responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of low-level to mid-level prospects and donors, with emphasis on individuals.
  • Collaborates with fellow department team members to leverage work products for multiple purposes and to benefit collective fundraising efforts, including aligning annual giving and stewardship strategies with other priorities, such as: planned giving, major gifts, and events.
  • Effectively communicates with colleagues within and outside the department to share information, resources, and ideas to enhance the Foundations and others work.

Experience Qualifications

  • 3-5 years Communications
  • 3-5 years Non-profit fundraising, marketing, and public relations
  • Preferred: Knowledge of fundraising and development principles, methods, and procedures.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong ability to communicate complex written materials to all levels of management and outside parties, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong understanding of annual giving strategies, including mailed and electronic appeals.
  • Ability to collaborate with individuals and groups of people to work towards the accomplishment of work and organizational goals.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, manage, and organize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Ability to use creative thinking and problem solving to drive work plans and work products.
  • Ability to meet with individual donor prospects, solicit fundraising report, and build fundraising relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an interest in developing strong relationships within and outside of the organization.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Preferred: Certified Fundraising Professional (CFRE)

Supervision Provided by this Position

  • There are no supervisory responsibilities assigned to this position.

Physical Demands

  • The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
  • Must have good balance and coordination.
  • The physical requirements of this position are light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
  • The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
  • The conditions to which the Associate will be subject in this position: The Associate is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
  • Occasional travel to meet potential donors.
