A Brief Overview
Lead other facility service associates by assigning, planning, scheduling and reviewing quality of work performed. The Painter applies paint, varnish and other finishes or wall coverings to decorate and protect interior and exterior building surfaces at all MHM/MHS facilities in Memphis. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.
What you will do
- Performs and oversees work orders for O&M Generalist, receives and prioritizes work orders and create materials list.
- Determines problems and ensures repairs are completed.
- Oversees the preparation of different surfaces for painting, finishing techniques and materials.
Education/Formal Training Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Work Experience Requirements
- 1-3 years Painter
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of proper materials and equipment required for preparation of surfaces and application of painting techniques.
- Good written and oral communication.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to organize tasks and maintain control of work flow.
- Must be able to pass a DOT background check based on work facility.
Supervision Provided by this Position
- There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this job.
Physical Demands
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The physical requirements of this position are: heavy work - exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently.
- The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
- The Associate may be required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, food services, general laborer, etc.) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard, inspection, etc.).
