A Brief Overview
The Lead CT Technologist is responsible for directing the activities of CT Technologists on the assigned shift. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

What you will do

  • Provides Practice Excellence through assessment, care, evaluation and education to patients and families in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Maintains and promotes compliance with all regulatory requirements, reimbursement standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility.
  • Provides Leadership Excellence in the clinical practice area. Collaborates with technical staff in organizing daily workflow and patient care.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to Learning Excellence through professional development and clinical expertise.
  • Demonstrates Role Clarity through professional competence, expertise, and knowledge, and supports the radiology profession through role modeling and fostering an environment of growth and learning.

Education Qualifications

  • Technical Degree or Diploma Radiology

Experience Qualifications

  • 1-3 years CT Tech

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated technical knowledge used to guide/lead others and carry out more complex assignments.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to exercise independent judgment in decision making for resolving new or unusual problems related to the general or technical aspects of the job.
  • Knowledge of the physical and operational characteristics of imaging equipment.
  • Ability to effectively relate and communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Basic knowledge of radiology information systems (RIS, HIS, and PACS preferred).
  • Ability to collect and analyze data.

Licenses and Certifications

  • BASIC LIFE SUPPORT - American Heart Association
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • Registered Technologist - Computed Tomography - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists

Supervision Provided by this Position

  • Leads and guides the CT Techs and trainees.

Physical Demands

  • The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
  • Must have good balance and coordination.
  • The physical requirements of this position are: medium work - exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.
  • The Associate is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
  • Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact.
  • Exposure to patient body fluids as well as exposure to hazardous or poisonous materials.
  • Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
