A Brief Overview
Responsible for assisting in the planning, directing, implementing and evaluating of the Associate Health Program for system Associates and for testing, evaluation, and referral of Associates. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.
What you will do
- Serves as lead nurse for the department, planning, assigning and scheduling work and ensures quality standards. Trains and mentors staff.
- Coordinates and serves as primary contact for all pre-employment health screening; coordinates on-site screenings, screenings at MLH recruitment events, and screenings with minor meds and third party providers.
- Creates and maintains database for reporting on-boarding metrics to include monitoring of time to schedule screening appointments and time to clear.
- Monitors and analyzes data and recommends and implements action plans to improve outcomes.
- Coordinates vaccination processes, events, and special projects and programs for the department.
- Complies with established patient care guidelines, maintains established clinic policies, procedures and objectives, is aware of patient rights and confidentiality issues and abides by established communication policy with regard to the age specific populations.
- Accurately obtains, organizes and records necessary data. Maintains Associate health records, equipment, and supplies.
- Performs fit-testing for MLH associates.
- Assists in the implementation and maintenance of the respiratory protection program for all MLH facilities.
- Recognizes and reacts appropriately to environmental safety factors related to Associate care.
- Helps maintain a clean, orderly and safe environment for patient and staff.
- Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.
Education/Formal Training Requirements
- Associate's Degree Nursing- RN
- Bachelor's Degree Nursing- RN
Work Experience Requirements
- 3-5 years Clinical healthcare (acute or hospital)
Licenses and Certifications Requirements
- Registered Nurse Arkansas - Arkansas State Board of Nursing
- Registered Nurse Mississippi - Mississippi Board of Nursing
- Registered Nurse Tennessee - Tennessee Board of Nursing
- BASIC LIFE SUPPORT - American Heart Association
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Skill and proficiency in concepts, principles and techniques of nursing.
- Strong computer skills required and knowledgeable of computer programs, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and oral communications skills.
- Ability to apply problem-solving techniques.
- Demonstrates leadership skills through effective planning, time management, and resource utilization.
Supervision Provided by this Position
- Functions as a lead role. Delegates and schedule work assignments for staff.
Physical Demands
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, pulling, lifting, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The physical requirements of this position are: medium work - exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.
- Use of hands for gripping and squeezing as well as repetitive hand and wrist motion.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate both orally and through writing to other individuals.
- The Associate is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
- Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact.
- Exposure to patient body fluids as well as exposure to hazardous or poisonous materials.
- Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
- Weekly travel to other facilities to provide Associate Health services.
