A Brief Overview
This position observes cardiac rhythm and electrode placement. Rhythms are observed, documented, and reported when changes are noted. Recognizes basic rhythms and rhythm changes using standardized procedures. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.
What you will do
- Performs and reports results on routine and specialized electrocardiograph examinations as directed.
- Cleans equipment, performs minor repairs and maintains supplies as needed.
- Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.
Education/Formal Training Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Work Experience Requirements
- No prior work experience
Licenses and Certifications Requirements
- HEART SAVER - American Heart Association
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations commensurate with education.
- Ability to read and comprehend moderately complex written material, such as technical manuals commensurate with education.
- Ability to organize and complete tasks.
- Ability to communicate verbally with others, including patients and co-workers.
- Ability to maintain working relationships with co-workers.
Supervision Provided by this Position
- There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this job, except that the incumbent may occasionally demonstrate job responsibilities to other Associates.
Physical Demands
- Exposure to patient body fluids.
- Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
- Ability to read and write to communicate both orally and in writing with other individuals.
- Normal vision, including color and peripheral vision.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., as well as push up to 150 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, squat, kneel, reach, bend, and twist throughout shift.
- Ability to use hands and feet together for repetitive, coordinated motions.
- Ability to use hands for gripping and squeezing as well as perform repetitive hand and wrist motion.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
