A Brief Overview
The Director of Strategic Activation is a strategic leader responsible for driving enterprise-wide transformation initiatives that reimagine care delivery, operational efficiency, and patient experience. This role leads cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement, design, implement, and sustain enterprise-wide transformation in support of MLH's strategic priorities. This high impact role is for a change agent who models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values, thrives in complexity, inspires collaboration, and translates bold initiatives into measurable outcomes.
What you will do
- Deploy a hypothesis-based approach to problem solving to support systemwide strategic and transformation priorities.
- Ability to deploy technical expertise in at least four of following focuses is required: service line development, healthcare process improvement, healthcare customer experience, digital and virtual health, provider network planning, physician engagement, mergers and acquisitions, or post-merger integration implementation.
- Under the direction of the Chief Strategy Officer, lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of systemwide strategic initiatives by partnering with clinical, operational, and technology owners to support implementation of the strategic plan, improve patient experience, promote operational efficiency, and enhance quality.
- Implement governance structures, outcome metrics, project management processes and tools, and reporting frameworks and provide regular updates on initiative progress to key executive stakeholders.
- Facilitate workshops, design sessions, and steering committees to create solutions and manage initiative progress with initiative stakeholders.
- Oversee the management of key enterprise reporting dashboards.
- Lead with a customer-centric mindset to provide high quality project management and process improvement support to internal customers across the organization.
- Build strong relationships with key organizational leaders to foster alignment and buy-in.
- Lead a team of managers and individual contributors to collect and validate data, produce high-quality qualitative and quantitative assessments to support systemwide initiatives.
- Always be learning and coach team of managers and individual contributors to do so as well.
- Be a people activator by maintaining and developing a competent, productive, and quality conscious workforce by hiring, evaluating, and coaching department personnel according to the MLH value system. Promote an environment that encourages staff professional growth and communicates a clear vision of organizational values and expectations.

- Bachelor's Degree Business Administration/Management

Experience Qualifications
- Seven (7) years of direct work experience in healthcare strategy or operations.
- 5-7 years Progressive management
Skills and Abilities
- Technical expertise in at least four of the following focuses is required: service line development, healthcare process improvement, healthcare customer experience, digital and virtual health, provider network planning, physician engagement, mergers and acquisitions, or post-merger integration implementation.
- Demonstrate prior experience leading teams to deploy a hypothesis-based problem-solving approach from problem statement definition to facilitating implementation next steps after the problem-solving process has concluded.
- Leads a team that supports the organization with the identification of and progression towards key performance indicators.
- Experience with stakeholder relationship building, engagement, and activation acting as an influencer in areas without direct management alignment to generate project outcomes.
- Prior experience planning, coordinating, and executing on large-scale organizational changes or a wide variety of complex projects.
- Excellent data analysis and computer skills in core programs (e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, Word, relevant data analyses and data visualization programs) are required.
- Ability to translate findings or direction into executive level presentations and facilitate meetings to progress projects forward.
- Experience leading complex projects with clear and measurable outcomes.
- Strong organizational and written and verbal communication skills.
Supervision Provided by this Position
- Manages, either directly or indirectly assigned Associates.
Physical Demands
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
- The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
- The conditions to which the Associate will be subject in this position: The Associate is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
